Presence of 'spider walkers' reported. Catastrophic losses sustained. Reinforcement action stalled further by invasion from Tyranid Hive tendril. Fleet affiliation unknown. All forces still able to fight are in full retreat. Andrastikon, Lord Commissar Clarent wounded in action.

Before being shot for cowardice, 1st Platoon Lieutenant [NAME STRUCK FROM RECORDS] reported final action by 1st Platoon Veterans against Tyranid Hive Tyrant. Their fallen are hereby redeemed in the eyes of the Emperor and are to be commended. 1st Platoon is to be held in reserve until troop and vehicle count are replenished.

Players: Imperial Guard (PDF) and Imperial Guard (me)
Pictured: Assault Phase - Veteran Squad vs Hive Tyrant.
White Tank = Hydra Flak Tank, wrecked.
Black Tank = Basilisk, wrecked.
Green thing in Background = Necron Triarch Walker.

That bonesword came down and swiped four guardsmen out of the picture. That left two out of the original six veterans who began the charge. Second Assault phase, only the Sergeant was left standing. Game was called due to time constraints.

My personal favourite moment of IG close combat heroism came when a normal Sergeant somehow managed to bring down a Necron Destroyer in the first turn of combat-the Emperor was watching over him that day!

yeah, that's what I was attempting here.... in the previous turn, these same six dudes took down a second Triarch Walker.
